The following retreats will all be held at Fowey Retreat and led by Robbie Low. Go to our Fowey Retreat page for more information.
Meditations on the Mass – Tuesday 19th June – Thursday 21st June 2012
Starting at 10.00am on Tuesday and finishing at 4.00pm on Thursday
Last year we received the new translation of the Mass. We have not just been asked to learn new words but reconnect with deeper meanings. This retreat will take us into the heart of the Mass and look at how we can pray it more profoundly and revive our understandings of the nature of the Sacrifice and our consciousness of the Real Presence.
Preparation for the Year of Faith – Friday 14th – Sunday 16th September 2012
Starting at 6.00pm on Friday and finishing after lunch on Sunday.
October 2012 sees the start of Pope Benedict’s call for ‘A Year of Faith’. This Retreat is intended to help us prepare for that and participate fully in this great opportunity.
A Christian’s Guide to Judaism – Wednesday 31st October – Friday 2nd November 2012
Starting at 10.00am on Wednesday and finishing before lunch on Friday.
Following last year’s two successful courses on Islam we have been asked to do a similar exercise for Judaism. Diaspora Judaism has had a profound effect on many societies throughout the world and the State of Israel stands at the centre of conflicting world views. Relations between Christian and Jewish communities are vital and mutual understanding an essential part of religious duties. We talk about our society being a Judeo- Christian creation. This course will look at the history, religion and life of what Blessed John Paul II called ‘our elder brothers in faith’.
Preparation for Christmas – Thursday 6th December 2012
10.00am – 4.00pm Lunch included
A series of meditations on key characters in the Nativity to prepare for Christmas. Each day has the same programme, choose the most convenient date for you. We spend enormous time (and money) getting ready for Christmas. This is a simple quiet day preparing our hearts and minds to welcome the child in the arms of Mary, Jesus Christ Our Lord.
